What I Wore to the Launch Party for Fulham Road Website

Last night Marc and I attended the launch party for the new Fulham Road website. It was a little chilly and rainy while I was getting ready so I bundled up a bit. Wouldn't you know it warmed up and the sun came out right before it set so I was a little too warm.

I wrapped 2 long purple bead necklaces around my wrists to create a stacked bead bracelets effect. I've seen this a million times in magazines and fashion blogs, but this is the first time I've done it.

Nude nails are all the rage right now. I'm feeling it! To be honest, I have the bright summer colors, but it's hard to get into them when it's still cold and rainy here most days. But I'm not bothered. Mid-summer every year I start longing for dark nail colours again!

I hot rolled my hair and got some serious natural volume without teasing at all, but it didn't last long with the drizzly weather... ho hum.

Last night we met our friend from Cayman in Richmond for a few drinks. He used to be our next door neighbor. I put this outfit together quite easily and I was pleased. Everything in the outfit is old except the cardigan bolero, which I scored yesterday at a steal from TK Maxx. Just goes to show that every outfit can be new again with a new piece or accessory!

Friday night we volunteered as Front of House staff at the Putney Arts Theatre. We have joined as members to get involved with our community and hopefully meet some people in our neighborhood. The job is usually working the bar, serving beer & wine and snacks... it's like a grown-up basketball game concession stand. They generally request a "smartish/casual" dress code.

On Saturday night, after a day of shopping, we ordered in sushi and then went out for wine and dancing! I was feeling saucy so I dressed up a little!

I love this clutch! I've had it nearly 2 years and have hardly used it. I've vowed to start incorporating it into my going out looks a lot more cause it's so cute and a great pop of color!

I have also had these bead necklaces for nearly a year and had never worn them. I'm horrible about buying things and never using them because I forget, but now that my closet is newly organized, I have no excuse!

A close-up of my earrings. They were very inexpensive, but they remind me of similar styles I've seen in designer shops. They are perfect for a POP of color with an all black ensemble.

Hubby and I went out to dinner last night so I got dressed up! I don't get the chance to dress up very often on island since the vibe here is pretty casual. And even though we went to a nice restaurant, I was appauled at the number of wife beaters, torn jeans and Harley Davidson t-shirts! I'm sorry, but dressing in beach gear is not appropriate in a lovely sit-down restaurant, even on an island.

I wasn't particularly thrilled with this outfit on me. Maybe if I were 50 pounds lighter and had those chiseled skinny arms that celebrities have, I'd love it! But I think the horizontal stripes made me look a little chesty and my arms look huge... However, from the waste down, I love this look, so I think I'm going to continue experimenting with this skirt to see how I can work it cause I love the skirt and I've had it now for 2 years, only wearing it this one time! I think I'm also going to start doing push-ups and maybe go back to the gym for cardio and some weights!
